As we reflect on 2016, we are overjoyed and thankful for all the blessings we have received. It is an honor to work alongside some of the best architects, designers, trades, and craftsmen in Charlotte. We hope you enjoy looking back on these memories, as we enjoyed creating them (Dec 14. 2016):
JANUARY – Grandfather Homes announced a new collaborative project with Mermans Architecture and Design, The Modern Dutch Farmhouse in Chantilly. This custom plan was designed specifically for keen use of space on the uniquely shaped lot.
FEBRUARY – Matt was named one of the Charlotte Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40.” Via Charlotte Business Journal: “These are 40 individuals under the age of 40 who are making major strides in their careers and having a positive impact on their communities.” We are so proud of him!
MARCH – Grandfather Homes and Luxury Home Magazine of Charlotte joined forces to host an “Evening of Luxury” event at 1001 Colville Road. LHM said it best – “You know it’s a successful event when you have double the turnout, a beautiful home to celebrate in, great guests, amazing music, food and no one wanting to leave.”
APRIL – In addition to celebrating our first DECADE of business, 2346 Overhill Road was recorded as the Charlotte area’s priciest residential sale. Cheers to many more decades of record setting, beautiful homes!
MAY – The Fountains at Mattie Rose went vertical and the site’s project manager, Matt Cohn, could not have been more excited. The Fountains is a village of luxury English farmhouse inspired duets located off Ideal Way in desirable Dilworth. We are currently taking reservations for the four remaining homes.
JUNE – The Charlotte Business Journal interviewed Matt on the importance of speculative homes in the Charlotte real estate market. It is always an honor to be featured in one of our favorite publications.
JULY – Grandfather Homes added a new service to the list of capabilities: custom home construction, interior design, architectural design, land acquisition, landscape design, land development, brokerage services, AND CUSTOM RENOVATIONS.
AUGUST – We broke ground on TWO custom builds side-by-side on Anthony Circle in Cotswold. Project Manager, Jason, explains, “Cotswold is booming with new projects, which makes it a great place to invest in your family’s dream home.”
SEPTEMBER – Jessica and Missy, Sales Team, hosted a Custom Home Building Lunch and Learn to educate local realtors on our simplified approach that makes building dream homes an enjoyable process. Special thanks to Donna Schermerhorn, Loan Officer at TD Bank, for sponsoring this event!
OCTOBER – Billy, Land Manager, began land development for Grandfather Homes’ newest community: The Towers at Mattie Rose. This 18-unit duet and triet village is situated along a woonerf, green living street, off Beaumont Avenue in Elizabeth.
NOVEMBER – Grandfather Homes’ newest Luxury Estate Series home, The Forest Manor on Belknap Road, went under contract during the framing stage. Watch this incredible estate grow from concept to creation in our #BuildingBelknap series.
DECEMBER – In December of 2014, Mattie Rose Land Development began pouring asphalt in The Arbors at Mattie Rose. Fast-forward to December of 2016, and we are pleased to announce we will be closing on the final of the fifteen homes!
